White water rafting at Kitulgala, boating across the river and trekking upto Makulu Ella Falls and bird watching are all 1 hour away from the bungalow. Rafting for 90 minutes through five rapids graded 2 & 3 are an awesome experience. Each Rapid has it’s distinct characteristic and the river is bordered by the lush vegetation of rain forests.

The Sapta Kanya Mountain range (The Seven Virgins) famed for it’s beauty but also noted for it’s history of taking the lives of 191 passengers on a flight from Indonesia to Sri Lanka towers over 4,300 feet above sea level and is accessed via Maskeliya in an hour from the Udapola Bungalow. This is a trekker’s paradise with numerous waterfalls and luscious rolling hills of forest and mist.

Diwa Guhawa or the Batathota Len Viharaya, is a Buddhist cave temple lost in the jungles and little known, but hiding a treasure trove of cave paintings and history. Accessed via the Erathna – Kuruwita road this historical location is about 25km from the Udapola Bungalow.

The bungalow is situated close to Colombo it takes only 2 hours to reach the place. Good roads leading to Deraniyagala and easy to find the location. The Bungalow is big and spacious with lot of common areas. The rooms were big enough and the washrooms were in good condition. The beds were clean and comfortable. The bungalow has equipment for all sorts of sports, bicycles, badminton rackets, tennis rackets, card packs and carom boards. Also, it had facilities to play cricket. The pool was clean but cold at any given time of the day as it is covered with trees. Food was nicely presented.
If you're in for relaxation after-way too much of city life, this is it! This bungalow is a well maintained colonial type bungalow equipped with basic facilities such as Hot water/Comfortable beds/etc.The rooms are specious, There are 5 rooms available and easily can accommodate around 10-15 people There is an outdoor pool and plenty of terraces.Friendly staff, good service, very tasty foods prepared according to our choice, fantastic scenery. Good for people who are seeking a calm and quiet place. My family loved this location kids enjoyed a lot and we had a homely stay here for 3 days.
